After a long day in downtown San Antonio, I was walking to my car when the thought of comfort food caused me to smile uncontrollably. No, not your traditional, calorie-packed comfort food, but another type of comfort food – cereal. I was immediately on my way to Joseph E. Coffee, San Antonio’s first and only coffee and cereal bar.

Joseph E. Coffee, located at 1111 S. St Mary’s St., opened earlier this year and answered the call of all cereal lovers. Whether you’re looking for a bowl of Apple Jacks to a more extravagant bowl of cereal, Joseph E.’s got it! My first bowl was perfectly named The Southtown and composed of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, French Toast Crunch, bananas, vanilla almond milk and a maple drizzle. Who knew you could mix and add fruit to cereals!? My mind had been sheltered for so long.

Along with cereal, Joseph E. Coffee offers a range of different coffee, specialty drinks, pastries and a variety of milk including coconut, cashew, almond, soy and hemp.
