Summer is time for catching up with friends at our favorite spots around town. We went searching for unique cocktails around San Antonio to get the conversation started. See which drinks made the list!
Paramour, everyone’s favorite rooftop bar, has San Antonio talking about the fun bag. The fun bag is everything you have ever wanted in your summer refresher, rum, lime and fresh berries. Drinking out of this ‘interesting serving vessel’ still may seem like a novelty to some. But just think about the drinks that won’t be spilled trying to walk in heels. Genius.
Our new favorite bar on The St. Mary’s Strip, Rumble, serves up cocktails, frozen daiquiris and food from Attaboy Burgers. The Some Great Reward was the first drink that grabbed my attention. A frozen cocktail made with rum, mango, chamoy and lime. Cool down with this grownup mangonada before catching a show at the Paper Tiger.
If you frequent the Rim like I do, The General Public is a go-to for great cocktails. I tried the mezcal mule and was warned that this was smokey twist on the traditional Moscow mule. While still made with ginger beer, The General Public switches it up with Vida mezcal, lime and muddled blackberries.
Alchemy Kombucha & Culture put a twist on the classic margarita by adding their kombucha made in house in the mix. The ginger margarita is created with tequila, orange liqueur, lime, ginger, and element green kombucha. I’ll love anything with ginger in it, and this margarita had just the perfect amount to give it an extra kick.
Located inside Hotel Emma, Sternewirth is a quaint bar that I could spend all day or night marveling at what was once a cellar room. Normally I would go for the Three Emmas, but I tried something a little different on Sternewirth’s summer menu. The banana stand made with old forester burbon, lazzaroni amaretto, lemon, banana, and aztec chocolate bitters transported my tastebuds to a tropical paradise.
Have you had any of the cocktails on the list? If not, which one do you want to try the most? Let us know in the comments!
