AlyssaWhen I moved to Southtown this year from the northside, my entire perception of San Antonio shifted — again! More nature, walkability, and 5 bomb ass coffee shops all within a couple of miles of each other. Oh yeah, you know we’re obsessed with that caffeine fix.
Gold Coffee at Freight
A couple of weeks ago I stopped by Gold, located inside of Freight Gallery at 1913 S Flores. I’ve been there legit three times since then because the vibe is so chill and the coffee is 🔥. Gold serves up tasty, vegan treats from Cake Thieves as well which is always a plus.
Shotgun House Roasters on SoFlo
While the Shotgun on Buena Vista will always have my heart, the new Shotgun location on S. Flores is my go-to because it’s in such a convenient area. Sometimes I’ll sit alongside their gorgeous, floral print wallpaper, or head to the velvet couch in the backroom to chill out a little bit. If you’re going on a coffee date, this is a good space to get intimate. Gotta start on a best coffee shops to take someone you want to eventually date blog! 😜
Poetic Republic Coffee Company
Poetic Republic Coffee Company recently opened their doors at 2330 S. Presa and they are serving up local coffee, with love. The shop is very intimate + cozy. Along with a passion for coffee, Poetic Republic has a deep love for literature and they believe in creating a space for people to connect, engage and create memorable experiences. The vibe is relaxed and I enjoy stopping by when I don’t have too much on my todo list so I can truly enjoy their amazing coffee creations.
Minimalist Coffee
While Minimalist Coffee isn’t a coffee shop, it definitely deserves to be on this list! This chic, coffee trailer chills at Hub Mrkt and features all-natural flavorings. Their organic blue agave latte with almond milk is perfection.
Brown Coffee Company
Brown Coffee Company recently opened its second location in Southtown. The shop is very open with seating on either side, along the wall or at the coffee bar. There are also a few couches if you really wanna lounge out. I feel like Brown Coffee is for serious coffee enthusiasts, you won’t be finding vanilla maple sugar oat milk lattes here. ☕️
