Southern California is a popular travel destination, as it has so many beautiful places to see and interesting things to do. Luckily it’s easy to get around, as places are well connected due to replacements such as that of the Gerald Desmond Bridge and updates to other essential infrastructure. With so many residents and travelers every year, bettering infrastructure and connection was essential.

Here are 7 must-visit spots in Southern California:


1. Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara is a city that has the hills on one side and the beach on the other. State Street is the main street where you’ll find plenty of shops and restaurants, and it is bustling on the weekends.

2. Venice Beach

Venice Beach is a beach town that has a bohemian feel to it. While here, a few must-do activities include a visit to the Venice Beach Boardwalk as well as a stroll in the historic district of the Venice Canals. The dining is also incredible here, making it a foodie heaven as well as a spot to go to if you love that laidback beach lifestyle.


3. Malibu

Malibu is one of those classic Southern California beach towns that many people know of due to TV shows and films such as “Two and a Half Men” and “Baywatch”. The beaches are gorgeous, the outdoor activities are endless, and the hillside is scattered with celebrities who choose to make this beach townhome.


4. Anaheim

Anaheim is home to Disneyland and draws millions of visitors every year. Especially for those who are going on a family road trip or holiday to Southern California, including Disneyland in the travel itinerary is a must.


5. Joshua Tree 

Joshua Tree is home to Joshua Tree National Park, where you will find truly unique landscapes and feel that you are almost in a whole other world. The indigenous plants are wild, the landscapes include oddly-shaped boulders, and the quirky town of Joshua Tree is full of character. It is popular to go camping here so you have plenty of time to go to the natural springs as well as some of the 4,500 rock climbing routes.


6. Palm Springs

Palm Springs is a desert town that has sunshine pretty much all year round. If you want a sunny holiday with a touch of luxury, this is a spot worth checking out. You can lounge by the pool of a hotel of your choosing, visit the top of Mount San Jacinto, check out one of the hiking trails, and simply relax.


7. Catalina Island

Visitors can reach Catalina Island via a quick ferry ride off the coast, making it an easy but special weekend destination. It is well known for its clear blue waters, sandy beaches, gorgeous weather, and quaint yet luxurious feel on the island. Popular activities here include scuba diving, golfing, and hiking.
