There’s a new brunch spot in town with a hip, New Orleans flair serving up brunch five days a week. NOLA, located at 111 Kings Ct., features a brunch menu that is unlike any other in SA. We love brunch centric restaurants, especially those that are open during the week. The days of patiently waiting for #SundayFunday are coming to an end.
Once you find a parking spot amongst the numerous cross streets surrounding NOLA, you will be greeted by a bright turquoise building with lush greenery all around. If you’re lucky, a cat may be found sunbathing on the porch.
The interior of NOLA is a bit tight with only two dining areas so we suggest arriving early in the day to scope out the best spot for your breakfast. Naturally I chose a spot near the windows to capture a beignets and coffee photo in between the rays of sunlight. I went with the classic, cloud like beignets for my first time but there are two other flavors on the menu – lemon curd and coffee + chicory – that I must go back and try.
The brunch menu consists of various brunch dishes including bread pudding French toast, a blue crab omelet, and shrimp and grits. Two people near me recommended the NOLA brunch plate and wow – they were right on. Praline bacon, grits, eggs your way and fried green tomatoes. Regardless of what you order, make sure to get a side of praline bacon. Ahhhh, so good!
NOLA is open Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Your coffee dates will never be the same again!
