Branchline Brewing Co. celebrated opening its tap room this past Saturday with tours of the brewery, good company and craft beers. Branchline was approved by the TABC for its brewpub license, so now you can purchase your favorite Branchline beer straight from the brewery to take home.
We ordered some flights to get a taste of what Branchline had to offer. The bartender served us Branchline’s top 4 brews: Evil Owl Amber, Shady Oak Blonde Ale, Dark Territory Oatmeal Stout, and Woodcutter Rye IPA. The tap room had plenty of board games to play with your friends, including a pinball machine, while you sip on beer. Get a high score for a chance to get your name on the wall behind the bar!
We later took a tour throughout the Branchline brewery where we learned about all the specs that make the company unique. Fun fact: the term Branchline is a secondary railroad track that branches off from the main line. The original name the brewery wanted was “Boxcar”, but unfortunately a Pennsylvania brewery had already taken the name. Hence the secondary railroad track, Branchline.
Branchline released a “brewpub exclusive”, a beer Branchline has been secretly brewing up until this week, which you can now taste in the tasting room or take a specialty bottle home yourself. The new beer is an addition to Branchline’s River City Series of “sour, specialty, and barrel aged beers.” Stop by the brewery for a taste yourself!
Enjoy bottles, flights, pints or canned beer-to-go at Branchline Brewing Company at 3633 Metro Pkwy, now open to the public Tuesday through Friday from 2 to 9 p.m.
