Looking for an excuse to eat out this month? Look no further than Culinaria’s Restaurant Week, taking place August 13th-27th, where restaurants all over town will be offering a special three course meal for lunch and dinner! With each meal ordered, restaurants will donate $1 for lunch and $2 for dinner to Culinaria and the programs it supports. We are going to use this opportunity to go over a few places we have visited and loved that will be participating, but you can find a full list of restaurants here!
Restaurants have been broken into tiers, with tier one offering lunch for $15 and dinner for $35 and tier two featuring a $10 lunch and $25 dinner. While reservations are not required, they are highly recommended and can be done so with the specific restaurant. Here are some of our top choices!
Alchemy – Tier Two
Alchemy, San Antonio’s first kombucha restaurant and bar, is blurring the line between vegetarians and meat lovers. Tea, cocktails, beer, wine, and amazing vegan, vegetarian and carnivore entrees are all available here to go along with your dinner or lunch.
Frank – Tier One
If you havent tried the specialty hotdogs at Frank yet, you’re missing out! With items like the Creole Gator, with smoked alligator sausage dressed with Tony Chachere’s popcorn crawfish, Crystal slaw, scallions, finished with Creole remoulade served on a Frank Bun they we don’t have a doubt in our mind that they will be serving up something great.
Grayze – Tier One
Located down the street from The Pearl, this restaurant has has a great bar and patio space. Menu items include the fiery red head, a blackened redfish po’boy topped with crystal remoulade, tomato relish and rocket, and the queso classico, a 5 grilled cheese sandwich on a buttered sourdough bread, served with tomato marmalade and grain mustard.
Tiu Steppi’s – Tier One
Tiu Steppi’s is one of the restaurants that already has their menu up, making it easier for us to choose them. Both the Braun and Bulverde locations will be participating. For lunch you will be able to pick from a salad or Bocconcini e Melone, Italian sausage burger or panzanella salad, and Honey Mascarpone and Figs for dessert. For the dinner portion, the starter will be either Bocconcini e Melone or Baked Provolone & Herbs, followed by Tuscan Herb Double Veal Chop or Tenderloin Medallions Pescatora, and finished with either Mini Cannoli Trio or Honey Mascarpone and Figs. http://culinariasa.org/san-antonio/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/steppis-culinaria-2016-1.pdf
