When the first stay at home orders hit, I broke out my sewing machine —brand new in the box— and finally thought this would finally be the time I buckle down and learn to sew. After a few failed attempts, I got discouraged and put my sewing projects on hold. Recently, I was inspired to try again with the help of The Stitch at Niche!

Niche at Pearl has created a fabric store inside their flagship boutique for new and seasoned crafters. Located at 302 Pearl Pkwy. Suite 112, The Stitch at Niche offers one-of-a-kind textiles, trims, and buttons not available at other fabric stores. You won’t find these items at local craft stores since most have been developed specifically for the Niche brand with textile manufacturers from all over the world that only work with the garment industry.

To get things started, I tried one of their pattern kits; each pattern kit contains all the supplies, fabric and directions to complete the project. As a sewing beginner, I was able to complete the wire headband pattern kit with zero problems and new-found confidence. By Fall, The Stitch at Niche will roll out a collection of limited in-stock and semi-custom home decor to include pillows, curtains, napkins, and other soft goods. When it’s safe to do so, Niche will host maker workshops and classes in store, led by its designer Nilgun Derman, its team or guest makers.
