AlyssaResting alongside the Cypress trees in downtown San Antonio is the Westin Riverwalk, an upscale hotel located at the quiet end of the River. As soon as you enter the Westin, you are greeted with a gorgeous, modern interior, and many contactless hand santizing stations. The staircase below is located left of check-in and the rest of the lobby features indoor and outdoor seating to lounge and enjoy a coffee from their Cafecito.
When I was invited to stay at the Westin last month, I must admit I was hesitant. With COVID this year, I have been more hesitant than normal, but thankfully the stay went well and the room was prestine!
Staying at hotels is a bit different with COVID – as I am sure you would expect! – but the Westin has a Commitment to Clean program that eased my mind. All surfaces are treated with hospital-grade disinfectants and cleaning is done with increased frequency.
Room service is also available by request and restaurant hours may be different, but thankfully the Riverwalk has numerous restaurants you can walk to!
Since I knew I would be spending more time lounging in the room than the public spaces, I opted for a beautiful suite featuring a living area + an extremely large bathtub that I used every night! The suite also included an amazing view of the River below.
The Westin Riverwalk’s onsite restaurant, Zocca Cuisine D’Italia, features incredible Italian food and I very much enjoyed dining on their spacious patio along the River each night. Highly recommend the soup, plant-based burger + allll the desserts. I may have ordered three desserts and ate two in bed later that night – hehe!
