Prove your humanity

Austin based coffee shop and cafeEl Tigre, opened its newest location in St. Paul Square this February. The new space features desert red floors splashed with color, fresh flowers on every table, and a cowgirl riding a tiger painted across a wall. When I saw the first photos of the space online, I knew it would become a personal favorite. The tiger-centric aesthetic, the warmth of the color palette, all very calming yet inspiring.

The curated coffee menu highlights matcha, cold brew and mushroom cacao along with the classic coffee shop drinks. Currently the breakfast menu includes a variety of toasts including ricotta and berry jam, breakfast sandwiches and pastries. It was difficult to bite into the beautifully crafted toasts (pictured below) – there are always more angles, different lighting – but once the flavor hits this hold up quickly evaporates. Sandwiches, salads and bowls are on the menu later in the day. The menu is slated to change in the next coming weeks.

The El Tigre team roasts their own coffee in Austin and works will all-natural and organic producers across the world who specialize in sustainable and ethical farming practices. Currently El Tigre has three roasts – one from Brazil, another from Honduras, and the last is a 50/50 blend of both.

Follow the tiger on the windows to 123 Heiman Street. El Tigre Coffee is currently open daily from 7am to 4pm.
