Devan Jones brought The Uptown Stomp together as a band in early 2013. The primary sound is Swangin’ Blues, Ragtime & Jazz from the 1930s through the 1950s. And it’s not just the tunes that are vintage – much of the equipment used is from his collection of audio electronics from this same time period. These old amplifiers and microphones give the music a rich mellow sound that cannot be reproduced on modern digital equipment.
