With Halloween behind us we’re looking towards upcoming holidays which means new holiday drink recipes! We partnered with Llano Estacado Winery to create two fall-inspired cocktails that are perfect for tailgating this season.
For our red wine lovers, this Cinnamon Apple Sangria will keep you warm throughout those long, cold nights. Well, hopefully we’ll have long cold nights in San Antonio…
Cinnamon Apple Sangria
Ingredients:
3 cinnamon sticks (plus more for garnish)
2 seasonal apples, chopped
1 orange, thinly sliced
1 bottle 2015 Llano Estacado Cabernet Sauvignon
2 cups homemade apple cider or store-bought
Fresh juice from 2 medium oranges
Juice from 1 lemon
Topo Chico, to taste
Directions:
1. Place the cinnamon sticks, apples, and orange slices in a large pitcher. Add wine, apple cider, orange juice, and lemon juice. Cool in refrigerator for 6 – 24 hours.
2. Make a cinnamon-sugar rim by moistening the rim of your glasses with water and dip it into a mix of cinnamon and sugar.
3. Pour in your sangria with fruit and add a splash of Topo Chico and garnish with a cinnamon stick.
White Citrus Sangria
Ingredients:
1 bottle 2016 Llano Estacado Chardonnay
1 blood orange, peeled and sliced
1 lemon, peeled and sliced
1 Cara Cara orange, peeled and sliced
1 small Navel Orange, peeled and sliced
1 lime, peeled and sliced
1 can Blood Orange East Cider
Topo Chico, to taste
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients except the Blood Orange East Cider in a large pitcher and place in the refrigerator overnight.
2. To serve – fill a glass with 2/3 liquid and fruit, and top with 1/3 Blood Orange East Cider and a splash of Topo Chico!
