As a cannabis advocate, my heart soars as more people begin to look into cannabis for wellness and overall wellbeing. While it may feel like we are decades behind here in Texas, local brands like Sherpa remind me that the future of cannabis continues to blossom even in San Antonio. 🌿

Sherpa features hemp-derived delta 9 products. Delta 9, also known as THC, is the component in the cannabis plant that produces a high. Yes, Sherpa’s products will get you high!

Sherpa’s gummies and cereal treats are SO. TASTY.

Each canna gummy is vegan, all-natural, non-GMO, gluten-free, sustainably sourced, and features 12mg of hemp-derived delta 9 THC and 5mg of CBD. If you are new to cannabis, I would highly suggest eating 1/2 a gummy to begin with. Edibles can begin to take effect anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours.

I love how Sherpa infuses their gummies with CBD as well. CBD is non-psychoactive and will help balance out your high.

Personally, I begin to feel a body high followed by giggling and euphoric feelings after about 35-45 minutes. Since I am not new to the edible world, I enjoy two gummies to get to that perfect high. ☁️

Remember when I said 24mg of hemp-derived delta 9 gets me to my perfect level of elevation, well this cereal treat is 300mg total. 300mg! The treats are so good, I have to honestly stop myself from overindulging. I suggest cutting your cereal treat into separate pieces before eating. With advice from Sherpa, I cut my cereal treat into four squares and then each of those squares into three pieces which is roughly 25mg of hemp-derived delta 9. If you’re a beginner, cut one of the three pieces into three more pieces and enjoy one. I apologize for the math, but I do love that I am able to have 12 elevated experiences with one cereal bar! Sherpa currently has three cereal treat flavors – fruity (pebbles), cinnamon, and cocoa.

Along with tasty gummies and cereal treats, Sherpa features a hemp-derived, pain-relieving roll-on with 1000mg of CBD and 200mg of hemp-derived THC. Whenever my shoulders begin to ache or my lower back is in slight pain, I roll on this minty goodness and find relief in minutes.

You can currently purchase Sherpa products online! I follow their Instagram so I know about any new flavors. Hello, Pink Lemonade!

Let’s end this journey with a look into legalities:

How is this legal in Texas?

The 2018 Farm Bill legalized hemp and its cannabinoids on a federal level. Each state has its own law regulating hemp, cannabis, and marijuana. Prior to the 2018 Farm Bill, hemp and marijuana were both categorized as a Schedule 1 Drug. However, a bright-line rule was established by the Farm Bill which distinguished marijuana from hemp which centers around the amount of Delta-9 THC within the plant.

If the concentration of Delta-9 THC of the cannabis plant is under 0.3% on a dry weight basis, the plant is categorized as hemp. On the other hand, any cannabis plant that has a concentration exceeding 0.3% Delta-9 THC on a dry weight basis is categorized as marijuana.

For a finished product to qualify as a hemp-derived product, it must meet a two-prong test. First, it must be under 0.3% Delta 9 on a dry weight basis. Second, a manufacturer must prove the cannabinoids are, in fact, derived from a hemp plant.

Therefore, products with under 0.3% Delta 9 on a dry weight basis are considered a hemp products so long as the cannabinoids can be sourced from hemp. Sherpa diligently sources its raw ingredients from the most credible laboratories in the United States, and maintains notarized affidavits in order to prove the cannabinoids are hemp-derived. We ensure that every Sherpa product stays well below the 0.3% Delta 9 threshold.
