Prove your humanity

Art deco and modern hospitality intertwine at Hotel Herringbone, located in downtown Waco.  The hotel is composed entirely from converted shipping containers and features 21 luxe rooms, three restaurants, a rooftop venue, and boutique retail shops opening soon.

From the moment of arrival, the experience at Herringbone was dreamy. White flowers delicately dance across the brick wall near the complimentary parking area. The lobby is vivid and features a unique multi-faced sculpture, a fuchsia velvet sofa, and fresh flowers. Converted shipping containers stack on top of each creating unique shapes. Seating areas with plush sofas surrounded by lush greenery can be found throughout the hotel.

The variety of artful rooms drew me to Hotel Herringbone. When one of the gorgeous, deep crimson bathroom came across my IG (bottom left photo), I immediately began to lust over a late-night soak. The deep bathtubs feature a slanted back, ideal for lounging, with bath salts elegantly resting on a wooden tray along with a flameless candle. Two of the king suites feature a Roman-style bathtub in the center of the bedroom, creating an aura of elegance and romance.

Small, sometimes (often) overlooked details can transform your hotel stay. When you walk into your room you’ll find two reusable water bottles for still and sparkling water. I spoke with the incredible hospitality team before arrival and asked if there were any options for NA beverages and was overjoyed when the Herringbone team let me know their onsite restaurant and rooftop bar both carry THC infused beverages. Enjoying a canna infused beverage in one of the bathtubs is one of my new favorite pastimes.

An intimate culinary escape, Red Herring, is located on the first floor of the hotel. Red Herring offers a romantic dining experience that seamlessly blends coastal Mediterranean flavors with an enchanting ambiance. The restaurant’s art deco-inspired décor features soaring ceilings, exposed brick walls, and stylish furnishings, creating an atmosphere that is both grand and intimate. A grand piano graces the lounge, often filling the space with live music, even playing when no one is there to move the keys.

Red Herring’s seasonal menu shifts often but one item we’ve consistently noticed and loved is the sourdough focaccia with whipped olive oil butter. My favorite drink – that I somehow overlooked the first night! – is the canna infused Hemp Mule made with Pamos THC spirit, lime, cucumber, passionfruit, ginger and mineral water.

Beyond the romantic allure of Red Herring, guests can explore Songbird and Lucky Buck’s. Songbird offers wine and charcuterie in the midst of the hotel space with wonderful outdoor seating. Lucky Buck’s, located on the rooftop, features phenomenal view of the iconic Magnolia Silos and the downtown skyline as your backdrop. The local bar features Hi Seltzer, a D8 infused beverage.

If you’re able to pull yourself away from the lush bathtubs and amazing onsite eateries, Magnolia is two blocks away. The Silos property features numerous boutique shops, the must-visit Magnolia bakery, food trucks and multiple areas to relax outdoors.

Nightlight Donuts & Coffee recently opened on the bottom level of the Hotel Herringbone complex and pairs beautifully with complimentary morning coffee from the hotel. Next door to the donuts shop is the gorgeous Design House Jewelry Studio & Boutique featuring artisan-designed jewelry and a design bar.
