OPEN Pop Up Shops has given three local designers a temporary storefront! Indigo Makers Collective, a community of makers, dreamers, and designers who provide beautiful, handcrafted pieces, now resides at 518 South Alamo St. in Hemisfair Park. The store specializes in men’s and women’s apparel and accessories and currently has a lease for 90 days.
If my first reaction when walking into a new shop is instantaneous smiling, I know I’m in the right place. Indigo Makers Collective features a collaboration between designers Blanquita Sullivan, Kass Carrell and Jessica Brown. The interior of the spacious shop is made up of brightly colored jewelry, unique apparel and art pieces that will make you chuckle.
Currently, Indigo Makers Collective has a three month lease that (fingers cross) will hopefully be extended for another three months. We’re hoping this charming shop will have the same popularity and success of Eye Candy Boutique, which transitioned from temporary OPEN participant to a long-term boutique at the beginning of 2016.
Next time you’re looking for a gift for yourself or a friend, stop by Indigo and support our local artists! Also, you don’t have to worry about bringing matching presents to a party any more. Store hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Join Indigo Makers Collective on Friday, July 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. for the grand opening with music, drinks and shopping!
