Prove your humanity

Broadway will now be home to a new Japanese-inspired gastro pub – Hanzo. Hanzo, your new casual neighborhood spot, will feature a unique food menu and perfectly curated drinks for after-work happy hours and weekend and late night drinks.

Hanzo’s cocktail program incorporates a range of Japanese ingredients such as matcha and miso, as well as a selection of Japanese beers and sake. The cocktail menu includes options like The Yuzual Suspect (yuzu sake, yuzu-ginger syrup, lime, Topo Chico), Miso Hungry (sake/soju, miso simple syrup, lime, ponzu/angostura reduction misting), and the Matcha Matcha Man (Kinsman Rakia, gin, matcha, honey).

Although Hanzo’s main focus will be specialized cocktails, the new gastropub also features a small but unique food menu that will pair perfectly with your Yuzual Suspect. Developed by local Chef Justin Richardson of Francis Bogside, the menu will include items such as hamachi sashimi with ginger soy dressing and scallions, pictured above.

Other menu items will include lotus root chips with wasabi, edamame and avocado puree; squid kara age (pictured above); house made pork dumplings and gyoza sauce, and more.

The new bar concept developed by Steve Mahoney opens it doors today at 7701 Broadway St., Suite 124. Hanzo will be open Monday through Sunday from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m.
