For 20 years, Lulu’s Bakery and Cafe, located at 918 N. Main, has been serving up amazing, three-pound cinnamon rolls and award-winning chicken fried steak. With numerous awards and a visit from Travel Channel’s Man V. Food, Jacqueline and I were honored to celebrate alongside Lulu’s for its 20th anniversary.
Families were gathered around tables, balloons were tied to chairs and the staff was all smiles. We took a seat at the bar to watch the magic happen. There’s something about watching coffee brew in front of you (and being a couple feet away from all the cinnamon goodness) that makes my heart swell with happiness and joy.
First up, the award-winning chicken fried steak! The chicken fried steak was paired with gravy, potatoes and macaroni and cheese. If you want a healthier option, look no further than the chicken salad overflowing with tomatoes, onions and shredded cheese.
Ah, the three-pound cinnamon roll. It’s just, it’s just amazing! With coffee on the side, it may be one of the best meals in San Antonio. Lulu’s is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Whenever you need a midnight snack, find satisfaction in knowing that a three-pound cinnamon roll is just a short drive away.
The 20th anniversary celebration continues with all-you-can-eat chicken fried steak on Tuesday, May 19th and the buy one entree, get a second free on Wednesday, May 20th.
