Tonight is the grand opening of Merkaba, San Antonio’s newest cocktail lounge located along the River Walk in central downtown. Brought to you by Howl at the Moon, Merkaba embraces drink flavors and decor inspired by Southern Mexican and Central American ancestors to create an environment unlike anything San Antonio has seen before.
The new venue located at 111 West Crockett features an inverted temple bar and specially designed lounge areas. I’m excited to view this during the evening hours when the lounge is full of moonlit energy. Artisanal cocktails are Merkaba’s specialty and feature an array of creative cocktails such as the Flower of Life Margarita, Temple’d Fashioned and the Find Your Mojo Mojito.
Merkaba’s signature drink is the 60-ounce, shareable cocktail named Rainbow Road made with Skyy Sun-Ripened Watermelon, Aviation, Cana Brava, Exotio Blanco, Licor 43 and Monin Honey syrup with Fever Tree Elderflower Tonic and fresh lime. Please drink responsibly especially if you’re ordering this bad boy!
The new cocktail lounge has also partnered with Paesano’s to create an enticing appetizer menu. I’m excited to taste test all the apps tonight at the grand opening! Along with complimentary passed appetizers, the private, grand opening cocktail party will feature free admission and half-priced drinks from 7 to 9 p.m. If you can’t make it tonight, there will be another celebration tomorrow, Saturday the 20th, starting at 7pm.
These drinks and several others will be available throughout Merkaba’s grand opening celebration, along with local DJs performing on stage, outdoor patio seating on the River Walk and much more. Will we be seeing you at Merkaba tonight? RSVP and find our more about Merkaba here.
Cheers, SA!
