The Zona Cultural Business Corridor, home to the historic Market Square, is one of the most vibrant and culturally rooted areas in San Antonio. When I was young, I can recall visiting Market Square with my family and I remember being taken by the colors and music. It was quite a different scene when I returned this summer.

Currently, Zona Cultural is undergoing $69,200,000 in improvements along San Saba, Santa Rosa, and Commerce St. Future developments include wider sidewalks, bike lanes, landscaping, street, and pedestrian lighting, as well as new architectural and design features celebrating Zona Cultural’s deep-rooted history.

The celebrated area draws tourists from all over the world, however, business at Market Square has dropped at least 50% since construction began. When talking to business owners within the area, it’s clear that there is a need for local support.

Market Square is open seven days a week! If you’re for a more casual time, I suggest going early and during the week if possible!

Where to Park

The Market Square Lot, located at 612 W. Commerce, is open and costs $10 to park.

Across the street from Market Square, you can find affordable parking under the bridge. Pay only $3 on weekdays and $5 on the weekends!

Please don’t park in any UTSA lots because your car may be towed.
