AlyssaWhen I first heard Rosella was opening a third location in the Rand Building (home to Geekdom), I could hardly contain my excitement. I remember Rosella being one of the first modern coffee shops to open in San Antonio and I believe the E. Jones location began the rising coffee culture in the city. Located at 114 E. Houston St. on the first floor of the Rand, Rosella’s new space is sexy. Yeah…that’s a great way to describe it.

When you walk into Rosella at the Rand you will be greeted with a chic red couch, marble table and gold backdrop. Remember what I said? Sexy. Once you turn completely into the cafe you’ll see numerous spots to sit and socialize or silently drink coffee while working away on your laptop. As I mention in most coffee shop posts, I love to have options on where to sit while I sip + type away.

Beige booths with accompanying marble tables rest on the opposite side of the register with a long table in between to comfortably stand while you wait for your almond milk latte with an extra shot. While I wait for my almond milk latte with an extra shot… Further down you’ll find an elongated royal blue couch opposite the full bar.

Along with serving up coffee on the regular, Rosella at the Rand also offers a full bar. The sleek bar top and wooden chairs beckon you to relax a bit in the center of downtown. I greatly enjoyed the golden fox figures making their way around the bar.

Rosella’s menu features breakfast and lunch options that are upscale in terms of average coffee shop food. I indulged in the bagel + lox but the lighter than air waffles, egg cloud sandwich and classic avocado toast are great choices for breakfast as well. The lunch menu features cold + hot sandwiches as well as snacks + plates including a hummus platter and cheese plate.

Rosella at the Rand is open Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 7 a.m. to midnight, Saturday from 8 a.m. to midnight and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
