“The Seven Seas Food Festival is our way of providing guests with an exciting foodie experience you wouldn’t expect to find in a theme park setting, all while enjoying the wonders of the park during the day and after dark,” said Scott Ronczkowski, executive chef for SeaWorld & Aquatica San Antonio. ” From baklava and mini lamb burgers in the Greek area of the festival, to jerk chicken and Caribbean Breeze cocktails in Jamaica, we’ve got something to satisfy every palate.” Chef Ronczkowski wanted to bring both familiar and newer flavors to San Antonio while introducing a variety of dishes.
From Italy, Spain, Greece to Brazil, Jamaica, Japan & Korea, the Seven Seas Food Festival does an incredible job of immersing you into an experience of each country throughout the park. Not just by tasting food do you gain an authentic experience of the country, but scenery, and even music to add to your adventure. Some of the pop-up restaurants feature live performances throughout the day, others offer beautiful surroundings and decorations. These small details for each spot add so much ambiance to the tour.
The festival also offers an interactive cooking demonstration featuring a local celebrity chef every weekend. Executive Chef Jeff White of the Boiler House was our host for the Cooking with Coca-Cola event. He whipped up some incredible “Coke Carnitas” – Coca-Cola braised pork featuring chunky guacamole, crunchy cabbage, cilantro, radishes and cheese all on a soft corn tortilla. There’s more to be explored at the Cooking with Coca-Cola demonstration every weekend and it a must stop on your tour throughout the park. Here’s the schedule for the remainder of the festival:
April 30 & May 1: Chef Armando Lopez
May 7, 8, 14, & 15: Chef Sam Boisjoly
The festival runs until May 15th at Sea World from 11 a.m. until the park closes.
