Inside a cozy building on S Presa St., warm pizza, pasta and Brussels sprouts await. Southtown Pizzeria recently opened in September and is bringing a little slice of Italy to San Antonio.
After warming up up over complimentary bread, we looked over the menu. Since it was our first time at the new restaurant, we decided to try the highly recommended Brussels sprouts. Although I am not a huge gorgonzola fan, Alyssa and I devoured the Brussels sprout appetizer topped with gorgonzola and pancetta. After we got our greens in, we ordered pizza and the salmon special.
We kept it easy that night with toppings – a 12″ pizza with pineapple was all we needed for a good night. Along with a plethora of pizza toppings, Southtown Pizzeria offers decadent Italian pasta dishes. With many specials varying every night, brunch Sunday morning and a great selection of wines – we are already planning our next visit to this small Italian hotspot.
Southtown pizzeria is open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for lunch and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. for dinner Monday and Wednesday through Sunday.
