Prove your humanity

francisbogside-3289Southtown Irish pub, Francis Bogside, located at 803 S. St. Marys St., has recently welcomed hungry guests in for Saturday and Sunday brunch. Of course, we had to see what they are serving up for everyone’s favorite midday meal.

francisbogside-3285We started brunch off with a classic biscuits and gravy, served with a pork sausage topped with bacon. We had to push aside the fluffy biscuits to save room for a unique take on chicken and waffles. The chicken and waffles at Francis Bogside are topped with a Vermont maple syrup gravy. This dish doesn’t curb your desires between syrup and gravy, but gives you the best of both worlds.

francisbogside-3255What’s brunch without the alcohol baked right in? The Bourbon pecan pancakes were the all around favorite. The three pancakes are drizzled with the perfect amount bourbon maple syrup, candied pecans and topped with whiskey whipped cream.

francisbogside-3239Francis Bogside offers a unique selection of drinks during brunch. If you’re looking for a classic mimosatry again. With names like Bananas in Pajamas and Instant Resurrection these drinks will be curing your weekend hangovers in notime. We started with the Londonderry Lover made with vodka, strawberry, basil, lime, honey and (my favorite) bubbles.

Grab your friends and head to Francis Bogside for brunch on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. and on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. Let us know in the comments what is your favorite brunch dish!
