Nirenberg states his vision for San Antonio as – “the city you deserve delivers good-paying jobs, rewarding careers, safe streets, beautiful parks, museums, clean water, fewer traffic jams”. His recent work includes suggesting $2 million to address the Wurzbach Parkway congestion and opening the new Medical Center fire station.

Taylor’s vision includes a safer San Antonio, infrastructure improvements, developing educational pathways, and helping small businesses. Her work as mayor has included passing a collective bargaining agreement with the San Antonio Police Officers Association, and purchasing 204 acres of greenspace.

As far as appealing to millennials, at an early debate, Ivy said she wanted “San Antonio to be a globally competitive city and cited her efforts with the community to secure rideshare operations in the city, bolster the local tech scene, and enhance the city’s arts and culture sector”. Ron Nirenberg on the other hand mentioned working on a “truly comprehensive multimodal transportation plan and a more equitable and compassionate housing policy” to coincide with the redevelopment of San Antonio.

With Ivy Taylor winning 42% and Ron Nirenberg taking 37% in the first vote, both candidates will need your help! For more election information, including voting locations and hours, visit the city’s website here
