As stores welcome sweaters to their racks, it’s still a solid 102 degrees in San Antonio. It’s fine, really. There’s no telling when summer temperatures will break, so we’ve gone on a search to find the best milkshakes in the city to help keep you cool!

The classic shake
Not all milkshakes are created equally. Fortunately enough Fletcher’s Hamburgers, located in side the Bottling Department at the Historic Pearl, is serving up quality classic milkshakes that pair perfectly with their burgers and fries. The difference is all in the syrups used; Chef Sergio Remolina hand picked all-natural syrups from France that he enjoyed as a child. With flavors ranging from strawberry to Nutella, all shakes are finished off with your choice of toppings.

The colorful shake
Bee’s Neez Cones and Coffee over at 20210 Stone Oak Parkway specializes in the creative ice creams of our wildest dreams. Cute and colorful just like our childhood breakfasts, their Froot Loop Milkshake with vanilla ice cream and crushed cereal is a perfect addition to our list. If you are looking for something cold and creamy minus the lactose, try their Tropical Sunrise mango sorbet-based “shake.”

The cookie shake
There are no rules when it comes to having dessert so why not mix your favorites at Chocollazo. Located at 4013 Broadway Street, the sweet shop specializing in chocolate and candy has a secret instagram menu. You won’t find it advertised anywhere, but ask for the Cookie Butter Milkshake. With vanilla Häagen-Dazs ice cream, cookie butter, Biscoff Cookie crumbs and house-made whip cream, you’ll be wondering if you’re eating cookies or drinking a shake!

The inventive shake
There’s no denying our love for avocados. On toast? Yes! On its own? Yes! In a milkshake? Why not! Located near Live Oak in Bracken Village at 18771 FM 2252, Avocado Cafe & Juice Bar specializes in dishes centered around our favorite green fruit. Featuring vanilla ice cream, your choice of milk, and avocado, their Avocado Shake is a customer favorite and beyond creamy. And if you’re vegan or dairy-sensitive, you can still try a special variation of this shake with mango and spinach. Who knew avocados went so well with ice cream!

The boozy shake
By this time in our list, you’re likely ready to take things to the next level. Graduate from the shakes of your younger years and add in some booze! Formerly known as The House, Boozy’s Creamery & Craft, located in Southtown at 723 South Alamo Street, serves up house-made ice creams with a twist. Get creative with their Boozy Shake; choose an alcohol-infused ice cream, add an extra shot, and get to sipping. With small batch ice cream and flavors rotating almost daily, there’s always something new to try at Boozy’s. From margarita flavored ice cream mingled with fruit preserves to a Fireball and Cinnamon Toast Crunch medley, the sky’s the limit. Be sure to enjoy these Boozy Shakes inside the shop as they contain alcohol.
