AlyssaLast weekend Jacqueline and I vacationed at The Guild – an Austin-based startup that’s at the forefront of a new movement in hospitality. Think boutique hotel-meets-residential building, with stylish, spacious suites, hotel-like amenities, a mobile concierge team and impressive rewards program that allows you to “live like a local” and experience the city the way residents do.The Guild features four properties – City Center, Red River, East 6th and University Park.
Our room was located in the heart of East 6th St. with numerous restaurants and retail shops connected to the building. My favorite part about the Guild experience was how we communicated with our concierge team-
through texting. The Guild team does an amazing job of providing you with everything you need without stepping into your space and disturbing any of your R&R.
For the first time in our whole twenty-something history, Jacqueline and I had two bedrooms! It was beautiful and I fell in lust with the modern and clean aesthetic as well as the shower curtain with “hustle” written in cursive gold.
Upon arrival you can choose to stock your fridge with whatever you like. Groceries, cider, candy, anything. When Jacqueline and I opened our fridge we were happily greeted with a Topo Chico, peach tea and miniature bottles of Deep Eddy Vodka. The kitchen is also fully stocked with pots, pans, silverware, a French press and a regular coffee maker.
After a night of frolicking 6th Street, we ended the evening (and started the morning) with the infamous Voodoo Doughnuts paired with a hot mug of Texas Coffee Traders Coffee which is locally roasted in ATX.
Remember when I mentioned the East 6th location was surrounded by local spots? Well right next door was an acai cafe – Blenders and Bowls. The island vibes and the acai bowls were on point.
