Alyssa and I stopped by The Well for the grand opening on June 21st. The Well, located on UTSA 5539 UTSA Blvd, has coined itself as San Antonio’s newest dining, drinking and dancing destination. With a tagline like that, we had to see what it was all about!
We entered The Well through the spacious beer garden with picnic tables and lime green chairs. We were already loving the vibe and we hadn’t even stepped past the patio. The interior of the Well features vibrant blue booths that lined the large dining space.
Alyssa and I had a busy day ahead, so we started off with crispy fried okra (my personal favorite). I ordered the triple decker club, made with thick cuts of house-smoked turkey meat, a spicy chipotle aioli, cheddar, with avocado, bacon and a fried green tomato. After snacking on the okra, I couldn’t finish my sandwich and had to take it home for dinner! Alyssa decided on the Texas farm chicken pot pie, a southern comfort food classic made with tender chunks of chicken, carrots, peas, mushrooms, onions and a savory sauce all topped with a puff pastry.
Before we left the Well, we took a look around the spacious bar. We are excited to see what live music will be coming to the well in the near future! Stay tuned for future events at The Well on its website.
