An hour and a half away from San Antonio rests a secret getaway where hilltops surround you and city noise is replaced with chirping birds and gentle winds. This Memorial Day weekend Jacqueline and I had the pleasure of staying at the Medina Highpoint Resort, located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country alongside Robertson Creek. We spent our hours exploring the trails within the resort, lounging in the Medina River and stargazing.

Medina Highpoint ResortThe Medina Highpoint Resort features traditional camping, bunkhouses and a variety of cabin styles. We stayed in one of the View Cabins overlooking the most beautiful part of the resort. The cozy cabin was made up of a king bed, mini refrigerator, microwave, flat screen TV and large patio deck with one table and four chairs.

Medina Highpoint ResortMost of our time in Medina was spent right here on this porch – where nothing but the tops of green trees were in sight. While wi-fi was offered across the grounds, Jacqueline and I opted to go off the grid. Well, not exactly, but we did make a conscious effort to keep our phones out of sight while we ate chips and played Uno.
